Ron Schoeneman has been recognized by Business Management Review Magazine as “Top CEO Driving Strategic Claims Management 2026,” based on our proprietary methodology, reflecting its position in the industry, and is also named among “,” reflecting its broader leadership. This profile has been developed by the Business Management Review research and editorial team based on insights from an interview with Ron Schoeneman, President and CEO.
For Ron Schoeneman, this is where the real work begins.
As President and CEO of A. Schoeneman & Co., Ron leads a family business built around helping people navigate major property losses. Founded by his father, Alan, the company has grown from its Chicago roots into a multi-state operation offering public adjusting, along with restoration, construction, mitigation and environmental services.
After decades in the industry, Ron has developed expertise in complex claims and large losses. Today, he works alongside his sons Mitchell and Justin, helping carry the business into its next generation.
Family remains central to how he leads.
“We’re big enough to handle any claim, but at the same time, with that family feel, we’re small enough to give the individual attention or concierge attention that each individual person needs,” he says.
Advocacy Built Into The Business
Ron’s approach is built around a simple idea. Scale matters, but so does having someone in your corner. For policyholders dealing with a major loss, navigating a large insurance company can add another layer of stress to an already difficult situation. Ron’s role is not limited to negotiating the claim. He helps clients understand the process, advocates for their interests and stays closely involved from loss through resolution.
The commitment to advocacy has its roots in his father, who entered public adjusting with a mission to help people and advocate on their behalf. Ron has carried that principle throughout his career.
His leadership remains hands-on. While he specializes in large and complex negotiations, the wider team brings expertise in estimating, construction, restoration, environmental testing and claims handling. His sons have also taken on important roles within the organization.
Modernizing Without Losing The Human Element
Building for the future has become more important as the insurance industry evolves. Ron sees artificial intelligence and reduced staffing across insurance companies creating new challenges for policyholders, particularly around communication and claims responses.
Rather than resist change, he has chosen to use technology where it can make the business more effective. A. Schoeneman uses modern estimating systems, electronic filing, remote assessment tools, Matterport and drone technology. AI is also used for follow-up and efficiency. The goal is not to replace people, but to give them better tools.
Growth and modernization, Ron believes, should strengthen the business without taking away its human element.
Even as the company’s reach expands, the focus remains on helping people recover. A damaged home or business is never simply a number on a claim. Clients may need temporary housing, guidance, reassurance and someone who will stay with them from the first call until the claim is resolved.
The same sense of legacy shapes his approach to ownership. Despite interest from potential buyers, Ron says the family is not looking to sell at this time. The priority is to protect what has been built while preparing the business for the future.
After decades in the industry, Ron’s leadership is rooted in experience, advocacy and people. He is preserving what his father created, adapting to a changing industry and preparing the next generation to carry it forward.
Insurance claims may be at the center of the business, but the purpose behind the work is personal. When people lose something important, Ron wants to make sure they have someone beside them to help find a way forward.
