Choosing the Right Franchise Opportunity
Many simply don't know what's out there and get tunnel vision for what they are most familiar with : food, fitness and automotive. With a financial decision and time investment decision as important as this, it's important to be able to explore many options- that's why a franchise consultant is valuable.
Building Confidence through Discovery
Even though I'm by definition a "Franchise Broker" this is something that cannot be sold to people. They have to really WANT to do it. So I promote the process vs pushing brands. We never guarantee a "fit" but I am confident enough in my inventory that I'll find intriguing brands for candidates and if they just go through the entire education and discovery process, by the end they will know 150% whether it is or isn't for them. Either way is fine with me

Franchising is a way to be in business for yourself but not by yourself.
Combining Technology with Trusted Advice
Just like with most other businesses, AI will have it's place in helping evolve the business and improving efficiencies in matchmaking and coaching; however that alone will not be effective in making sure candidates get the right fit. They will still need human professional guidance and coaching and leveraging consultants relationships in the industry.
Preparing for the Realities of Business Ownership
Franchising is business ownership in a do-able form for a lot of people. Starting a business from scratch requires a lot of money, time and stress in just understanding what doesn't work before you can build off what does work. In Franchising, you get the proven playbook and can build off that along with active personal support from the franchisor. With that being said, any form of business ownership is hard in your first 1-2 years so you should be ready for a lifestyle change as you're ramping up. It's more than likely harder than your corporate job in years 1-2 but easier in year 3+ with the opportunity to build equity and earn more in the long run. Also you can't be let go on a whim as a franchise owner. Your company can let you go anytime they please.
